Communities
The Baptist Life Communities is made up of
Baptist Village of
Northern Kentucky, Baptist
Towers of Covington, and
Baptist Convalescent Center of Newport.
Baptist Village of Northern Kentucky is a campus for senior
living located in Erlanger, Kentucky. The residents and clients of Baptist
Village find levels of care to accommodate their needs from independent
condominium living through skilled nursing care.
Long term leased condominiums are located across Riggs Avenue from
the main campus; and the Munro House provides independent living in individual
units with somewhat lower than market rate costs.
The Long House is the
assisted living building where assistance with activities of daily living are
provided. Care for those residents with needs for the highest level is
provided in the skilled nursing facility, Village Care Center.
For skilled
intermittent services, Baptist Life Communities has its own Baptist Home Health
Agency, which can serve all residents in the condominiums, Munro House and Long
House when the need arises.
Baptist Life Communities is committed to wellness as
well as health care as indicated by the Full Service Wellness Center located in the Long House
which accommodated residents of the condominiums, independent living and the
assisted living buildings.
All of these living choices are located within
minutes of the restaurants and shopping at Crestview Hills Commons. Also only
minutes away are the physician offices and the hospitals of St. Elizabeth
Medical Center, Edgewood and St. Elizabeth
Medical Center, Florence.
The Village is comprised of the following care facilities
Baptist Towers of Covington is situated in on the border of south Covington
and Ft. Wright. It is mere minutes from I-75, easily accessible through the
suburban area of Ft. Wright, yet it is easily within reach of Covington’s
and Newport’s core business and residential areas.
The facility contains both personal care and
independent living units within one
building. The residents of the personal care unit are served by a 24 hour staff,
and for the independent level residents who may require non medical assistance,
on site services are available from the staff of Baptist Assistance.
Baptist Towers is decorated in the Victorian style. Delicious meals are prepared
in the on site kitchen and served in the adjacent, beautifully appointed dining
room.
Barber and beauty shop services, and a store staffed by a community pharmacy are
available for the residents of the Towers.
An activity department and social programs are available such as bowling, arts
and crafts, games, concerts and social activities as well as scheduled van
outings for dining, banking, etc.
An open chapel on the second floor and the Baptist Chaplain program serves the
spiritual care needs of the facility’s residents with regularly scheduled
religious services.
Baptist Life Communities include Baptist Home Care. Residents of the Towers
whose physicians may recommend rehabilitation or restorative therapy or skilled
intermittent nursing have easy access to these services as their needs require.
Poised on the pinnacle of a hill overlooking downtown Newport and enhanced by
the grand views of the Cincinnati Skyline, Baptist Convalescent Center is the
flagship of the Baptist Life Communities system. It has been in continuous
service to the Northern Kentucky community since 1952. As the needs of the
community and the supporting Northern Kentucky Baptist Association grew, the
size and capabilities of Baptist Convalescent Center, Inc., doing business as
BAPTIST LIFE COMMUNITIES, grew and changed to meet these needs.
This original facility, the health center nursing facility provides a
comfortable, homelike atmosphere where residents live surrounded by the ambience
of antiques, Victorian parlors, outdoor courtyards and patios with breathtaking
views of the Cincinnati skyline and a marvelous two story dining room built to
enhance the residents enjoyment of that marvelous skyline view. It
provides floor to ceiling windows framing those spectacular views.
A balconied area of a
nursing home floor affords the resident not only the spectacular vista of the
Cincinnati skyline but also the chandeliered dining room below.
These comfortable, familiar surroundings house 167 residents in the nursing home
level of care. The antiques and Victorian furnishings belie the state of the art
nursing facility with 24 hour skilled licensed professional personnel and
nursing assistant staff whose training to prepare for examinations for
certification as a state tested nursing assistant is provided right on site.
A therapy unit is staffed by licensed professional therapists in physical
therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and respiratory therapy.
The adjoining Arbor provides a secure residential environment for those with
special needs. This area is licensed by the state
of Kentucky at the personal care level.
Meals are prepared in the onsite kitchen adjacent to the dining room with
special diets planned for each individual resident with the assistance and
guidance of a licensed dietician.
Baptist Life Communities have their own, handicapped accessible vehicles to
provide our residents with the opportunities for activities away from the
facility.
